The very first Sega SG1000 home game console was released the 15th July 1983.

The SEGA SG1000 wasn't a big succes.

The first popular system Sega released... First edition had built-in Hang-on and a secet game names Popeye Maze... The next release was the one with the fameous Alex Kidd in Miracle World

Hang on :   Snail :   Alex Kidd in Mircacle World :

First sega 16 bit console released in 1989 (known as Megadrive EU or Genesis (USA))
The second Sega Megadrive was released in 1993.
The Genesis 3 was released in 1998 as a budget model.
After the 16 bit era came the 32 bit consoles like the Sega Saturn.

After this one came the Sega CDX which one could be used as a portable cd-player. This was known in the USA as the Sega CDX, and in Europe it was the Sega Multimega.

The final 128 bit Sega was their Dreamcast, which was my personal dream as a teenager, but very expensive.
